Construction
It was built 1961 at the famous yacht yard "Abeking & Rasmussen", where a lot of excellent yachts have been built.
The ship was REFITED in 2005. The extensive refit of the CASTOR required almost a full year´s effort by both people and machinery (more than 15,000 hours). The prescribed program included maintenance of the engines and technical periphery, renovation of the deck and hull, and the entire overhaul of the underwater hull at the Turkish naval shipyard in Aksas. Old paint and fillings were removed from the entire outside wood up to the last corner, and the wood was professionally repaired, if necessary, the wood was then repainted in the old splendor, naval grey.
Last dry docking in April last year in turkey.
New underwater coating in April last year.
Easy to drive!!!
VISIONS
The very elegant hull lines have inspired the owners of CASTOR to contact various designers and to invite them to illustrate their vision of how they see the CASTOR in future. Those design studies show CASTOR unusual and highly interesting potential.
While the vessel is now for sale in her excellent state, the current owners are very keen on offering the boat itself but also a very interesting package including a great technical documentation.
Also they offer assistance to realize any proposed conversion.
