1961 Facel Vega Facellia



This rare 1961 Facel Vega Facellia F2 Cabriolet is an exceptionally original barn-find and an ideal candidate for restoration. It is remarkably complete and highly original, exhibiting minimal rust and retaining its correct details and components throughout. As a true barn-find, the car is currently not running, but it presents a rare and exciting opportunity for restoration. Included with the sale are the original owner’s manuals, period registration documents, vintage parts receipts, spare wheel, factory jack, and original lug wrench.



Chassis # A172 was originally ordered by Journal Motors of Newton, New Jersey, on behalf of a local physician. The car was flown into Newark aboard an Air France cargo flight before being delivered to the dealership. Shortly after taking delivery, the first owner commissioned a color change from its factory navy blue to the burgundy finish it wears today. After only two weeks of ownership, however, the doctor decided the Facellia was not the right fit and returned the car to Journal Motors. Howard Angle, owner of the dealership, subsequently kept the car for his personal use and enjoyed it for many years before placing it into storage in a barn in the Catskills region of upstate New York sometime during the 1970s. Decades later, in 2025, the long-forgotten Facellia resurfaced after appearing in the background of a Zillow property listing photograph showing the barn where it had remained hidden for years. Soon after, the car was acquired directly from Howard Angle’s daughter.
