Armoring Specifications and Upgrades

Opaque Armor

• Five sided armoring of Crew compartment to defeat up to 7.62mm x 39 API BZ ammunition as per STANAG 4569 Level-2 standard (see “Opaque Armor Specifications” section 4.0)

• Vehicle armoring shall be constructed in such a way as to ensure that a projectile following a linear or angled path will not enter the vehicle’s interior

• All vertical areas & Roof are constructed of ballistic steel.

• ‘V-hull’ shape floor to protect occupants against blasts from mines, Improvised Explosive Devices, fragmentation grenades and other explosive threats as per STANAG 4569 Level-2 (2a and 2b).

Transparent Armor

A combination of glass, polycarbonate and Mylar are bonded together using the latest technology, producing one of the finest transparent armors available while incorporating the following qualities:

• Glass is positioned geometrically to obtain optimum blast mitigation from side blasts due to improvised explosive devices.

• Anti-spall shield protecting against shattering glass

• Finest optical quality, minimal to no distortion

• Will defeat up to 7.62mm x 39 API BZ ammunition as per STANAG 4569 Level-2 standard (see “Opaque Armor Specifications” section)

Engine Compartment

• Engine compartment is protected with ballistic steel.

• Air vent louvres are installed on the front and top of engine compartment to allow for air ventilation through.

Turret

• 360 degrees Manually Rotatable Turret providing protection up to STANAG 4569 Level-2.

Armoring and Performance Upgrade Details



Doors and Hinges

• Entry and exit points are located on the top, rear, and both sides of the vehicle.

• All door hinges are engineered-for-purpose heavy-duty type hinges, capable of sustained functioning of heavier armored doors

• The hinges directly connect to the armoring steel in the doors and the armoring steel in the pillars

• All interior door panels include reinforced robust grab handles in order to assist with the opening and closing of the heavier armored door

• Two interior manual locking latches are installed in all doors in order to prevent unwanted access to the interior of the vehicle while maintaining ease of access to the vehicle

• Each and every door aperture, including the optional roof mounted turret, will be installed with ballistic steel overlap and splash return around the entire door aperture, 360° of the

aperture, to prevent any ballistic penetration and keep the armored door in place in the event of a large side blast.

Seats and Interior Upholstery

• Total seating for 12 personnel (driver plus commander and 10 crew in the rear)

• Military grade certified blast attenuation individual seats having 5-point harnesses configured to allow for viewing, monitoring and firing through the firing ports.

• Upholstery is strong vinyl covering all sides in order to maintain ease of maintenance.

Air-Conditioning system

• An air circulation system is installed in the vehicle with intake/exhaust electrical fans

• A 24V auxiliary heating/air-conditioning system is installed in the seating area of the vehicle to allow for climate control in addition to the OEM air-conditioning unit

Tires and Run Flats

• All wheel rims, including the spare wheel, are of steel construction and Heavy Duty Tyres (395/85R20) with high payload rating are certified to carry the weight of the vehicle.

• All five wheels are fitted with Hutchinson or equivalent run flat devices

Suspension & Brake System

• Front & Rear Beam Axles with Anti Roll Bars. Semi-elliptic Springs on rear & Reinforced Parabolic Leaf Springs on front along with Shock Absorbers.

• Brake System comprising of ABS + EBL on rear with 2 independent pneumatic circuits having Air Compressor acting on wheels.

Drive train and steering

Bumpers

• Both front and rear heavy duty steel ram bumpers are custom designed by our armoring factory to fit the specific designs of the APC

• The front bumper includes two reinforced towing points, one right and one left, for the attachment of shackles and towing straps.

Gun ports

• Fifteen (15) spring loaded, swing type gun ports (6 on each side and 3 on the rear) are installed in the vehicle, each positioned to provide easy access and use from each seating position

• V-hull floor to protect occupants against blasts from mines, Improvised Explosive Devices, fragmentation grenades and other explosive threats as per STANAG Level-2 (2a and 2b).

Ballistic Specifications

The following table represents the ballistic protection levels for the above mentioned vehicle for both transparent and opaque armor: (Stanag-2 Level). Vehicle will come with material certificates only.

• Opaque Armor: Armored passenger compartment roof and 4 sides. “V-hull” shape floor to protect occupants against ballistic threats and blast from mines, Improvised Explosive Devices, fragmentation grenades and other explosive threats as per STANAG 4569 Level-2 (2a and 2b).



Warranty

Our Armored Factory warrants any armor related items installed, and conversion related custom workmanship, for one year, or 20,000kms, whichever comes first; any suspected warranty related work must first be confirmed as being necessary by means of technical consultation with a representative of our Armored Factory. Coverage applies to the original vehicle owner only. Technical consultation regarding any repairs or malfunctions is available by telephone during our normal operating hours. Warranty work to be directly covered by our Armored Factory shall be performed locally only after assessment and authorization by our Armored Factory. Our Armored Factory shall, upon consultation and approval, make payment for any/all repairs deemed to be of a reasonable nature by our management and engineering department. Our Armored Factory does not cover any OEM vehicle parts and components that have not been modified or preformed work on during the armoring process. Such parts and components are the sole responsibility of the client and the vehicle OEM. Our Armored Factory assumes no responsibility for damages incurred through vehicle misuse or abuse, negligence, accidental damage, or any unauthorized modifications or alterations made to the vehicle following delivery of the vehicle to the client. Under the terms of this limited warranty, our Armored Factory shall in no way be held liable for any incidental or consequential damages arising from loss of use or time, inconvenience, or commercial loss resulting from the need for warranty work. This warranty covers the repair and/or replacement of warranty related items only, and any non warranty related additional costs incurred remain the responsibility of the client. Accessories not directly related to the armoring process (winches, lighting, shields, etc.) shall be covered by the warranties of their respective manufacturers, and are not included in the warranty coverage provided by this agreement. However, although our Armored Factory does not warrant these items directly in any way, we do agree to offer any reasonable assistance in obtaining servicing from their companies of origin. Should there be any undue difficulties with obtaining servicing of these accessories; our Armored Factory will also agree to replace them for the client at our current wholesale cost price. The client shall remain responsible for any/all shipping and handling fees or incidental costs associated with the replacement of such items, as well as the aforementioned replacement cost.
