PROJECT: ECUADOR
Required generating technology:
Gas turbine(s) with genuine dual-fuel capability
Required effective plant output:
27 MW minimum – 30 MW maximum NET/EFFECTIVE, measured at the 69 kV grid delivery point
Please note that this is not simply generator nameplate output. The offered equipment must provide at least 27 MW effective output after site corrections, auxiliary consumption, transformer losses and electrical losses up to the 69 kV delivery point.
Frequency:
60 Hz – mandatory
Primary fuel:
Natural Gas
Alternate fuel:
Diesel Fuel No. 2
The equipment must be genuinely capable of operating on both Natural Gas and Diesel No. 2, including operational fuel transfer/changeover.
Voltage:
Generator voltage may be 11 kV, 13.8 kV or another technically suitable MV voltage, provided a complete step-up solution to 69 kV can be supplied.
Commercial operation:
730 days / 24 months
Required monthly availability:
Minimum 85%
Mobilization, installation, testing and commercial operation:
Maximum approximately 90 calendar days from contractual commencement.
Preferred equipment:
GE TM2500+ / TM2500+ Gen 6
GE LM2500+ / LM2500+G4
Kawasaki L30A
Mitsubishi H-25, if genuine NG + Diesel No. 2 dual fuel
Pratt & Whitney FT8 / MobilePac
Or another equivalent 60 Hz dual-fuel gas turbine
New surplus, unused, low-hour used or professionally refurbished equipment may be considered, provided complete technical and operating documentation is available.
Complete plant requirement
We are not looking only for a bare turbine.
Please also identify suppliers capable of providing:
Gas turbine generator package
Dual-fuel system
Controls, excitation and protection
Starting system
Inlet and exhaust systems
Fuel gas conditioning/regulation
Diesel receiving, storage and treatment systems
Balance of Plant
Step-up transformer to 69 kV
Switchgear/protection
Synchronization and metering
Installation
Commissioning
Operation & Maintenance
Spare parts
A complete rental / lease power-plant solution would be especially attractive , because this is a 24-month rental and operation contract rather than an outright power-plant acquisition by ELECAUSTRO.
If one single turbine has approximately 32–35 MW ISO/nameplate output but can be guaranteed at 27–30 MW net at the 69 kV delivery point, it may be an excellent solution.
Important
The following equipment from the inventory you just sent does not meet this particular project requirement because it is HFO-only, Diesel-only or Gas-only:
MAN 18V32/40, CAT 3616, CAT 3516C, Wärtsilä 20V34SG, Wärtsilä 9L34SG and the MAN PAXMAN 12VP185.
They may remain of interest to us for other projects, but please do not consider them for this ELECAUSTRO requirement.
Timing is urgent. The current market quotation deadline is September 7, 2026.
Therefore, please circulate this requirement immediately to your turbine owners, power-rental companies and EPC partners.
CALICA is also open to discussing a consortium or joint participation structure with a qualified international owner/operator that can provide the equipment, technical experience and O&M capability required for this Ecuador project.
If you identify a suitable candidate, please send us initially:
Make/model
Year
60 Hz confirmation
ISO/gross output
Expected net output
Exact NG + Diesel No. 2 capability
Operating hours/starts
Current location
Scope of supply
Availability/delivery time
Sale price, rental price or proposed commercial structure
We can move very quickly on any genuinely compliant opportunity.
