Rare and Exclusive 1952 Mercedes-Benz 300 ADENAUER Cabriolet D

This 1952 Mercedes-Benz 300 Cabriolet D is a beautiful driver wearing an older restoration. White with black leather. 3.0 liter 6-cylinder engine with twin Solex carburetors, mated to a column-shifted four-speed manual gearbox. A mechanically strong and highly attractive example that runs and drives well. Nice panel gaps and door fit. A straight body and solid undercarriage. At the time, the 300 Cabriolet D was among the most expensive and luxurious cars available on the German market. Furthermore, the Cabriolet D was one of the rarest body-styles to grace a Mercedes-Benz chassis. Its convertible sedan setup was typically reserved for heads of state and board members. Fast and elegant, it was one of very few contemporary vehicles capable of carrying six passengers in comfort at sustained high speeds. It was the car of choice among West German government officials, and throughout Europe and the USA was widely favored by businessmen, financiers and politicians. Indeed, Adenauer became the 300 saloon/limousines unofficial model name, after German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, its most famous customer. The 300 Cabriolet d version was among the worlds most expensive automobiles of its day. As one of just 591 Cabriolet Ds produced, this top-of-the-line 300 model represents quite a rare and exciting opportunity for its next lucky owner.
